Personal Study: How to recognize that you are called? Part 1 of 4

The Call

I give you my all.

I will pick up the phone.

I will answer your call.

You are the one.

You gave me dreams.

dreams of my future.

You gave me prayer teams.

I am going to be in a new culture.

I am not afraid.

You will give me aid.

I am not alone.

You are on my phone.

You gave me the call.

I will give you my all.

I will not be alone.

I will not drop your call.

Do not allow me to forsake.

Forsake your call.

I will live for your sake.

I will give you my all.

For centuries, people have been asking the resounding question: "What am I called to do? Am I called by God to do something wonderful? Am I anointed with the Holy Spirit to pursue God's calling on my life?" In this personal study, we will be answering these questions. We can analyze the question of how to recognize that you are called.

First, be in constant prayer. God calls us to pray. It is a two-way avenue, not a one-way street. To understand God's call on your life, you have to communicate with God through prayer. Paul even commands us to pray (see 1 Thessalonians 4:2).

Second, be in a mindset of surrendering. You must surrender your entire life to God (Yahweh Elohim). You must surrender your relationships to God. God wants you to raise the white flag and submit to His call for your life.

Third, Be in the Psalms. Psalms are prayers written by David, Moses, Heman, Ethan, and Asaph. The psalms show us how these people answered their calling, yet stumbled along the way. Psalms are guidelines for formulating our prayers.

Fourth, along this line, your plans will ultimately fail. However, God's plans for you will ultimately succeed. When you are not in God's calling, your life will ultimately be on a path of destruction (See Psalms 78:26-33). However, God's will for you will last forever (1 John 2:15-17).

Fifth, God will place unique situations in your life. This means that these situations will demonstrate to you that you are called--for that unique purpose. For instance, I have been in children's ministry all my life. So it will be clear to pursue a calling related to Children's ministry. God has placed unique situations in my life.

Sixth, God will lead you to your calling whether you like it or not. Look at the life of Jonah. He went so far away from God's calling that he was swallowed up by a giant fish. Do not be like Jonah. Pursue God's calling on your life, whatever that may look like. So, God will abundantly clear your calling whether you like it or not. God divinely calls everyone to their career (Ephesians 4:11-16).

This is part 1 of 4. I will give you six more reasons tomorrow. Stay tune. I am so blessed to be writing this. God has been revealing a lot to me recently on how to know I am called to a godly mission. I hope you enjoyed this post.
