Psalms of Deliverance: Psalms 86:2-5 Deliver us from the darkest hours of our lives

Psalms 86:2-5 NASB: "Preserve my soul, for I am a godly man; O You my God, save Your servant who trusts in You. Be gracious to me, O Lord. For to You, I cry all day long. Make glad the soul of your servant, for to You, O Lord, I lift my soul. For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in lovingkindness to all who call upon you."

How often do we cry out to God "Abba, Father?" How often do we cry out to God to help us undergo difficulty in our lives? How often do we lift our souls up to God for healing and restoration?

In the past weeks and months, I have been struggling with a variety of things. However, I have lifted my soul to God to renew me, restore me, and remake me. I want to renew my spirit every day. Like God says, "His mercies are new every morning." How amazing is that! That His mercies are new every morning. Though we may face a perpetual nightmare every day, He is with us. In the good times, God is with us. In the darkest days of our lives, he is with us. He will never leave us nor forsake us. Sometimes, It is easy to give up. But instead of giving up, give in to the warm embrace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who cares for you and me. He will never let us down. Though we may face trials of many kinds, He is always there to carry us through those trials and tribulations that we face.

Sometimes, we want to cry out "God, remove me from my situation." Instead we should be crying out "God, redeem the situation I am in. Make it better. Redeem me. Restore me. Remake me. Create in me a song of rejoicing." God wants us to express our emotions before Him. He wants a relationship with us. Not a one-way avenue. It is a two-way communication channel.

Imagine if you had a dog. Every day, You never walked it. Never fed it. Never cared for it. that dog would become bitter and angry towards you. God does not want that for your life. God wants you to live a life worthy of the Gospel that he laid for us. God want us to communicate with him and not be like the dog who grows up to be bitter and angry. When we are out of communion with God, we become bitter and angry just like the dog. This is a poor analogy, but you get the point. We need to commune with God to live a stress-free life. It is a stress-free life because we cast our burdens to the one who cares for us. 1 Peter 5:7 states "Cast all your cares upon Him because he cares for you." God cares you and God cares for me. God cares for you every hour. He is always with us to comfort us in our darkest hours.

If this was encouraging, please share it. I want everyone to know that God cares for them in the good times, in the bad times, and in the roughest patches of our lives. Thank you! I hope it was encouraging and uplifting. This was one psalm that inspired me to write this blog post.
