In the Breathless Society series, we looked at how they have the Mantra that Darkness is their closest companion. In this article, we will look at how some Christians look like those from the Breathless Society by asking questions. Are you wanting to live for Christ or for the Breathless Soceity? These questions will reveal which path you are on.
How often do we spiral into temptation and live like the breathless society? The breathless society does not breathe in the wonderful breath of Salvation. Sometimes, as Christians, we live like the breathless society. We give into our temptations. We need to stand up and cry “Not today, Satan. I have the bought-born blood of Jesus Christ. I can overcome my temptation through Jesus Christ.” The demons tremble at the Name of Jesus. We are called to live for Christ alone. The World is fading away. What are you storing up in your life? What do you want to be remembered for?
How often are we reading our Bibles? How often are we praying to God? How often do we quiet our souls to listen to God? How often are we evangelizing? How often are we considering others above ourselves? How often are we encouraging fellow believers in Christ? How often do we pursue God’s calling on our lives? How often do we rely on God? How often do we praise God? Does our life convict us of our Christianity? Are you publicly sharing the faith? Are you social media to show that you are living for Christ? Have you fasted? Have you seen that you grow closer to Christ when you fast? Are we addicted to Christ?
Sometimes, these questions are very revealing to me. I struggle with reading my Bible some days. I also struggle praying some days. In the words of Matthew West, We should not stop praying—“Don’t stop praying.” When we live in the Word of God constantly, it reveals a plan for our lives. One that we least expect. Are we dwelling in the shelter of the Most High God?
These questions are not responded well among the breathless society. They need to create new habits through the power of the Holy Spirit. We need to read our Bible. We need to pray every day. We need to attend church. Are you living for Christ or for the Breathless Society? That is a question you can only answer.
