"Awake, o sleeper. arise from your spiritual grave. Be free from the grave of sin and death." --An Unknown author.
A Breathless Society keeps hold on trying to find joy in their work, their family, their marriages, their sinful life, and their addictions. They seek joy in worldly desires instead of in true, unspeakable joy. They find fake joy and will never be satisfied. The most joyful people are the people who have little. When I went to Jamaica on a mission trip, I didn't find those who lack the basic needs wallowing in self-pity and saying, "Woe is me. I have nothing. Therefore, I should be bitter and remorseful to those around me." They didn't do that at all. They found Joy in Christ alone. He is our firm foundation and loves us immensely. How often do we get upset at the little stuff in the United States? How often do we get upset when we do not get our way? How often do we want to please people instead of God? How do we find true Joy? How is God able to provide us with lasting joy? Is Joy just a fleeting emotion that comes and goes? Can Joy truly last forever? Does Joy indeed come in the morning?
In this article, we will analyze Psalm 84. I encourage you to read it with an open heart. It revolutionized my thought process and helped me be more joyful in my work environment. Joy can cure any mental health issues if you allow joy to radiate inside of you. Joy can be lasting if your joy is placed in God. Here are some key points or take aways from Psalms 84.
First, we can see God's dwelling place, which is heaven, and it is so lovely (Psalms 84:1). Heaven exists for the Holy One (Psalms 84:1). Heaven cannot allow sin in (Habakkuk 1:13). However, God provided a way for us to come into his dwelling place with thanksgiving and be made Holy in his eyes (Justification). It is only through Jesus Christ alone (John 14:6).
Second, we need to long with immense passion to enter the courts of the Lord. (Psalms 84:2). How do we enter the courts of the Lord? It is by pursuing a relationship with Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior. He is the only way to enter the courts of the Lord. We need to do it with our entire being, body, and soul. In order to enter the courts of the Lord. We must surrender our lives to Christ, essentially making Christ the Lord over our lives. We must confess our sin nature, recognizing that we are not perfect and we will never be perfect (Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God"). The punishment of sin is eternal suffering in the Lake of Fire. 24 by 7 torture chamber that you will never get rest from. It is a terrible picture. However, if we surrender our lives to Christ by confessing our sin nature and confessing that Jesus Christ is the Lord over our lives by dying on the cross to pay the penalty of our sin, burying our past never to be brought up again, and then being raised on the third day, conquering sin and death. You will have eternal life and will be a child of God. If you believe this and receive this. This is how you enter the courts of the Lord with thanksgiving. Then, thank God for sending his perfect son down to earth to pay the penalty of sin so that you might be a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). Then, no one can snatch you out of your Heavenly Father's hand. Once saved, always saved. When you do sin, he is faithful and just to forgive you of your sins and will cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). He will remember your sins no more. Go and sin no more. You are made new. You are adopted into the family of God (John 1:12-14).
Third, Joy belongs to the Lord (Psalms 84:3-12). Joy comes from God. He is the living God. Joy comes from sacrificial living. Allow yourself to be a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, renewing your minds daily so that you may test what is true and noble in the Lord's eyes (Romans 12:1-2). Are you singing praises to God tonight? Are you living for Him alone? Are you giving him the keys to your life? Joy comes from living in God's house, which has more than enough rooms, once we are glorified in our bodies (Psalms 84:3). Joy comes from trusting in God alone with our entire being, body, and soul (Psalms 84:2, 12). Joy comes from pursuing the will of God, not from pursuing the World (1 John 2:15-17). Joy comes from living a life for the Lord (Psalms 84:10). Joy comes from entering his courtyard with thanksgiving, praising him for all that he has done in your life (Psalms 84:11). Joy comes from being a gatekeeper in the house of God (Psalms 84:10). Joy brings on Good things from the Lord (Psalms 84:11).
This is what the breathless society is missing out on. They are missing out on the unspeakable joy in God. The breathless society is too busy to receive this. They too busy living for the fleshly king and not for the God of Heaven's Armies. Are you too busy to pursue a life for Christ? Are you living in your own desires? Are you living in the breathless society regime, or are you living in God's kingdom today and being royalty in his eyes?
